REVIEWED: RIVERDANCE!

Last night, Shindy.TV took in the opening night of the farewell performances of RIVERDANCE in San Diego. We were unprepared for what we were about to see. And we were among many exclaiming that this was the best show they’d ever seen as we exited after the performance. Words cannot describe how over-the-top amazing this performance is. The talented musicians, the moving Irish-themed music, the beautiful set, the fantastic costumes, and the superhuman athletic prowess of the dancers -– this show has it all.
The dancing redefines tap. All-out speed and military precision combine with grace and flow to present a vision of beauty that has to be experienced live. We gasped, cheered, yelled, laughed, smiled, clapped, tapped and ultimately gave a rousing standing ovation to this performance –- the whole packed house of us. We must invoke the cliché, “If you see only one show this year…” -– make it RIVERDANCE, and make it this week, because after that, it’s gone from San Diego. Now playing at the Civic Theater, San Diego Concourse, in Downtown.
